A Flamingo Among Rhinos

In the last months I have talked about patriots and loyalist. Many accuse me of using labels unjustly, but these are legitimate terms and can be found in "Webster's II New College Dictionary".

Patriot-One who loves, supports, and defends one’s country.

Loyalist-One who maintains loyalty to a lawful government, political party, or sovereign especially during war or revolutionary change.

The term loyalist has a much broader definition, and it can apply to both Democrats and Republicans. Most party loyalist only care about winning elections and pushing their own agenda without any consideration for others. A patriot loves his country regardless of which party is in power. He or she remember those great people, of the past, who made their country great. They are flamingos among rhinos. Now that is a label. LOL!

In a previous post I talked about hearing a kid calling someone else, "A Flamingo Among Rhinos." I thought this label was catchy and decided to use it as my blog's subtitle. Let me clarify something here, I am not calling Republicans flamingos or Democrats rhinos. I see patriots as flamingos, beautiful birds who compliment any setting. On the other hand, many loyalist are like rhinos, territorial and brutal.

In future post I will be given examples of people, in history, who can be classified as patriots or loyalist. They can be found in through the ages and through out the world.

The Shamgar Report Is Five Years Old

The Shamgar Report is now in its fifth year. The story of Shamgar is only found in one verse in the Bible, Judges 3:31. This passage records that he picked up an ox goad, (A pole with a sharp metal point) and killed 600 Philistines. According to the Jewish Historian Josephus, Shamgar died one year after his great feat. This story should be an inspiration to each and every one of us. Never should we be afraid to stand up for what we believe, regardless of the odds.

In the past year, my mind has thought a lot about the true division in America, and I wrote about it this summer. I have been accused of having a simple philosophy, but holding to the values given to us by our creator is not rocket science. Patriots love their country, and cherish freedom for all men. They look beyond now, just like those who met in Philadelphia in 1776. These men thought about the generation who were to live on, even after they were dead and gone.

Loyalist who follow their leaders blindly, develop tunnel vision. They are only concerned with now, and have no gasp of history, heritage, and the future. Just like those who supported King George III, they seek leadership in partisan politics.

The other day I heard one kid describe another kid as being a flamingo among rhinos. I laughed until I cried, but I loved the phrase, and decided to use it as my blog’s subtitle. Flamingos are beautiful birds who compliment any setting, just like a patriot.. Rhinos are territorial and brutal. They don’t blend well with other forms of life, just like loyalist.

In the 2008 Election the rhinos were in full force. The liberals were trashing everyone who opposed Obama. Many even said the Republican Party was dead. They were counting their chickens before they hatched. Even in Massachusetts , that haven for political rhinos, a flamingo can be found.

Also I noticed those who were running me down, stalking me, and saying I was ignorant don’t seem to be online much anymore. It seems the recent Republican victories have silenced them into humility.

Digital Revelation Chapter 1

This is Part I of a digital series which covers the book pf Revelation. I found this while browsing through YouTube, and asked the producer if I could post these on my blog. He wrote me back stating that I was more than welcome to use them.
