As I stated earlier this year, The Shamgar Report will profile third party presidential candidates from time to time. I have contacted a few and have had one respond, and even talked with him on the phone for a few minutes. Gene Amondson was the presidential candidate for the Prohibition Party in 2004. Mr. Amondson is a minister, talented artist, writer of children's stories, and has published a book of pie recipes. He is man of many talents. I also found Mr. Amondson to be a very pleasant man who lives by his convictions.
Below are few questions that I asked him over the phone.
Why the Prohibition Party? Why not the Constitution or The American Heritage Party?
The Prohibition Party approached me. A preacher friend got me involved.
Why run for President? Would you have a more realistic chance of winning if you ran for Congress or state legislature?
I am interested in working with Prohibition Party on national level.
Your Vision for America.
Prohibition will come again. 85% of most violent crimes are alcohol related. Prohibition will come again. Responsible drinking is like a pig eating with a spoon. Also we need to stop the advertising of alcohol beverages.
What to say when you hear people say that Prohibition is responsible for organized crime?
The Mafia was here before Prohibition and is still here.
Your opinion of Barak Obama.
He is a typical Democrat. He would vote for a monkey in a blue suit smoking a rubber cigar.

Those Who Voted Against Immigration Bill
House Bill 1024 passed an overwhelming 92-5. If this bill beomes law, illegal immigrants will be barred from being on the state of Arkansas's payroll. It is hard to believe that any legislater would vote against this bill. All were Democrats who did. The Shamgar Report will be keeping and eyes on these five represnatives.
Stephanie Flowers-Little Rock
Willie Hardy-Camden
Barry Hude-North Little Rock
Gene Shelby- Hot Springs
Kathy Webb-Little Rock
Those who didn.t have the guts to vote either way
Tommy Lee Baker-Hot Springs
Linda Chesterfield -Little Rock
House Bill 1024 is sponsored is Rep. Rick Green R-Van Buren.
I wonder many state senators will vote against this bill?

Arkansas Republican Legislatures Compromise
On January 9th John Lyon, of the Arkansas News Burea, wrote an article about Arkansas's Speaker of the House Bill Petrus. The Democrat from Stuttgart has appointed many Republicans to committee chairmanships. Rep. Donna Hutchison, R-Bella Visa, praised the new speaker for forming a coalition of conservatives, liberals, and moderates/
This statement proves that most office holders, Democrat or Republican, will compromise their beliefs for political power. Below is a list of Republicans who were appointed by Speaker Petrus.
Mike Kenney -House Education Committee
Kevin Anderson-House Revenue and Taxation Committee
Sid Rosenbaum-House Insurance and Commerce Committee
Shirley Walters- Joint Committee on Energy
The Shamgar Report will be keeping up with these Republicans voting records to see how conservative they are.

From Lamb to Lion
He came first as a lamb,
But will return as a lion.
Bringing honey flavored jam,
To a world that is damned.
With the strength of a ram,
Eternal peace will enter Zion.
He came first as lamb,
But will return as a lion.

ABC Poetry
I discovered this from poet named Bianca Boonstra. It's called ABC poetry. Icey the Bat was my daughter Anna's creation.
Icey the Bat
A planet made of ice
Beams in the darkness of space
Cong is a place of eternal winter
Dew is always in the air
Eskimo clothing is worn by the natives
Freezing rain all year around
Gum drops grow on frozen trees
Heat is a rare commodity
Icey the Bat came from Cong
Journey to other places was his dream
Kneeling before the ice king
Leaving Cong was his request
Making a degree
Never to return
Options lay before him
Putting the ice world behind him
Quest to other places lay ahead
Reaching for his dreams
Star by the millions
The size of the
Universe
Vastness cannot describe it
Worlds after worlds
X to mark the stop never came
Years past
Zeal to travel stayed with Icey
Icey the Bat
A planet made of ice
Beams in the darkness of space
Cong is a place of eternal winter
Dew is always in the air
Eskimo clothing is worn by the natives
Freezing rain all year around
Gum drops grow on frozen trees

The Shamgar Report for 2007
On January 23rd, The Shamgar Report will be two years old. On that very first post, I explained why I named my blog Shamgar. His story is one verse in the Bible. Judges 3:31 states that Shamgar picked up an ox goad (a pole with a sharp metal point) and killed 600 Philistines. In my opinion, this man's courage should be an inspiration to all underdogs in everyday life.
This year I have decided to profile Third Party Presidential Candidates. They are totally ignored by the major media. This does not mean that I support or endorse any of these candidates. However I do believe they should be heard. I will also be contacting them, asking them questions about their platform
The Arkansas General Assembly will soon be in session. The Shamgar Report will once again look at some the bills that the state legislature will be submitting. Also we will keep an eye on the new Democratic Congress. Poetry and stories, along with commentaries on Boxing and Wrestling will be posted from time to time.
2007 should be a good year.

Farewell to President Ford
It seems many notable people died in 2006. I attempted to pay tribute to a few, and feel that Gerald Ford should not be ignored. President Ford is a man who holds many records in American history.
-He was born Leslie King, but took the name of his step-father.
-An Eagle Scout
-Media pictured him as clumsy, but he played college football.
-A Congressman and House Minority Leader.
-Served on the Warren Commissioner, and was the last surviving member
-Only man to be appointed the office of Vice President
-38th President of the United States
If he had not pardoned Nixon, I truly believe he would have defeated Jimmy Carter.
