Arkansas Native Becomes World Champion

This was part of the post that I accidentally deleted. To answer Micke's question, Bernard Hopkins is A boxer.

On this post I want to congratulate (Little Rock native) Jermain Taylor for defeating Bernard Hopkins to become the Undisputed Middleweight Championship of the World. At the moment, Taylor's record is 24-0-0, and also won a Bronze Medal at the 2000 Olympics. The only other World Champion ( that I know of) who was from Arkansas is Former World Heavyweight Champion Sonny Liston.

Soon I will be posting some articles on King Saul's son Jonathan.

John G. Roberts

I accidentally deleted my post on John G. Roberts. On that post I admitted to eating crow because Roberts appears to be a true Conservative. I hope he gets confirmed but I doubt it.

In Memory of Lord Alfred Hayes

Last Night, while watching, “Monday Night Raw,” I discovered Lord Alfred Hayes had passed away. A native of England who became a hated villain during the 60's and 70's.When I was twelve years old, we lived near Houston, and I had the opportunity to see Lord Alfred in person. He came to the ring wearing the Union Jack, as he waved in the air all the fans started booing very loudly. He appeared to be very offended. This was 1976 when this nation was celebrating it's Bicentennial. This made the fans hate him even more.

For many years promoters and fans overlooked his wrestling talent. But in 1972, Hayes defeated NWA World Champion Dory Funk Jr in 1972. But since Dory Sr. had interfered earler in the match, the referee reserved his decision to a disqualification. So Dory Jr. walked away with the title. That same year Pro Wrestling Illustrated named Hayes as “The Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year."

In the 80's, Lord Alfred Hayes became a color commentator for the WWF. He participated in many promos and story lines. He was also the co-host for “Wrestling TNT” in 1986. Not only was he a gifted athlete, Hayes was also a talented entertainer.

In 1993, Hayes' health started going down. He suffered from a spinal infection, and lost a leg due to gangrene. In 2005 he had several stokes which led to his death. Lord Alfred Hayes was 76.

Rest in Peace.

Pro-Lifers Are Still Left Standing in the Rain

It appears that a pro-lifer will not replace Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court. George W. wants to work with the Democrats, so the nomination will go smoothly. This tells me that the President will appoint a pro-abortion judge. The Democratic Senators have given Bush a list of Hispanic judges they would approve. Both parties acts as if the nominee's ethic origin is the poltically correct thing to do.

First Lady Laura Bush thinks that O'Connor should be replaced by a woman. So I guess George W. needs to find a Hispanic Lady to replace Justice O'Conner. This way he pleases the Democrats, the Republicans and his wife. Which tells me that pro-lifers will once again be left standing in the rain.

The other day I was reading an article posted by Danny Sanders on the Arkansas News Bureau website. Sanders reported that the state has a surplus of a 108 millions dollars. Republican Governor Mike Huckabee wants to set aside the surpless for any unpredicted emergencies.

But the Replublican lawmakers want a special session in order to make tax cuts. Even some Democratic legislators feel that the people of Arkansas deserve a break. In my opinion the surplus does not belong to the state, and the money should be returned to the tax payers of Arkansas.

Since Huckabee plans to run for President in 2008, giving the money back to the people would be a smart thing to do. But thats the catch! The possibility of a politican doing something smart is almost a fairy tail. But you never know, we may get a snow storm in July.

So far "The Shamgar Report" has endorsed two candidates in 2006. Jim Holt for Lt. Governor, and Jim Lagrone for Secretary of State. To fill the vacancy of the Supreme Court, "The Shamgar Report" would like to see Roy Moore or John Ascroft replace Justice O'Conner. But I doubt this will happen

Is Freedom Free

Is freedom free?
Nay!
What did it cost?
The
Blood of many brave people
Was the price paid for the freedom we enjoy.
The blood
Of Christ bought our spiritual freedom.
We Americans are very fortunate
Being blessed twice.
Jesus Christ gave his all
Now the world can be free from sin.
Many wars and civil unrest bought our political freedom.
Americans are free to worship the Lord,
Also the freedom of speech, life, and prosperity.
Paid with blood.

This is a form of poetry called PI.
