The Ridiculous Bottle Rocket Bill

Recently the house passed a bill that would ban the selling of bottle rockets in the state of Arkansas. One of the biggest supporters of this bill is Rep. Joyce Elliot, D-Little Rock, the same lawmaker who sponsered the immigration scholarship bill. Rep. Elliot is just another exmaple of an office holder being out of focus with reality.

If this bill passes the Senate, the law would hinder those whose sell fireworks for their livelihood. I agree that fireworks can be a hazard in the city limits, but this is strictly a local issue. And it should be decisions of City Governments to set ordinaces on fireworks. When the state legislatures deal with issues such as this, they are spinning their wheels, and wasting the taxpayers money.
