Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ
Can relate with us
Defeated
Hell and Death
Rose from the grave bearing scars
Will return as King

This was written in a poetic form called Shadorma. Happy Easter to everyone.

County Officers Request 4 Year Term

County Officals are asking State Legislators to propose an amendment that would expand their terms from 2 to 4 years. If the General Assembly approves this, it will be on the ballot in 2006. Many local politicans are claiming they spend all their time campaigning. I feel that local office holders would get too comfortable with a 4 year term. But if a term limit clause would be added to this amendment, I would be for it. At the moment the proposed amendment would only benefit local career politicans.

The Coward Governor

Senate Bill 999 permits electronic gambling at Oaklawn and Southland Greyhound Park, and it
will become law because Gov. Mike Huckabee refuses to sign the bill. The Governor claims to be against gambling yet he refuses to veto this bill. He is unwilling to make a stand either way.
This is a man who has hopes of becoming the next President of the United States. This nation does not need a coward as President. Huckabee would be another Jimmy Carter.

The voters of Garland and Crittendan Counties will have a chance to vote, before this bill can become a law. Huckabee has hopes the voters of these counties will vote the measure down.
Since our Governor has no backbone, he will pass this burden on the voters. If he would simply veto this bill, the taxpayers would not be burden with a special election.

In my opinion Huckabee is for legalized gambling. He just doesn't have the guts to say so.

Legislators Priorities Out Of Focus

Represnative Shirley Walters proposed a bill that would allow veterans of Iraq to prurches a "Iraq Freedom Lincense Plate" for an additional $10.00. Many may think this is a great thing. But I think veterans should be able to obtain a special license plate without any additional charges.

The political legislators of Arkansas really have their priorities out of focus. They favor scholarships for the children of illegal aliens, yet they want our veterans to pay extra for a license plate. This type of philosophy is an insult to every man and woman who have served in the armed forces.

For many years Republicans were opponents of unfair taxes, but this is no longer true. Represenative Phillip Jackson, A Republican from Berryville, has proposed a bill where credit card users would pay an additional 5 cents a gallon at the gas pumps. Just another unique way for the government to rob the consumer. And so much for the Republicans standing against crazy taxes.
